A Note From the Editor
If you are one of the two people who read this site, you have undoubtedly noticed that the content has not been updated in more than six months. Life is complicated. Things change. Interests wax and wane. All of that is a silly way of saying, I have not had time to write and update any site content during the past year. This is not to say I will never update the content again, or that I have lost interest in informing both of you about my adventures or opinions. It just means that with Facebook and Twitter and such, I have had more pressing matters to attend. But, please investigate my whereabouts periodically. Like the governor of my fair state, "I will be back." I just can't say when.

In the meantime, if you're the kind of guy or gal who still obsesses about your vinyl record collection, check out the magazine I put together and edit for Jim Kaplan: Record Collector News. (It is not remotely like this site.)

Or, for intelligent and witty feminist commentary, go to Twisty Faster's blog: I Blame the Patriarchy. Artist and writer Erica Lopez is pretty, f-ing amusing too. You can find her cartoon log here: Erica Lopez clog.

Finally, if you're not going to buy my awesome T-shirts (seen in the sidebar and available at cafe press), think about buying Honey Harris' Lesbro T-Shirt. She coined the term, now she should coin the profits. Go to: honeyharris.com.

 COSMIC CIRCUMSTANCES

Aquarius – Alignment in Awareness
Aquarius, mid-winter in the north, strips us to our seed essence under the pressure of survival. It is a time of distillation and purification, isolating us at the center of awareness amidst the pattern of life's interrelationship.

This year it is reinforced by expansive energy (12-year-cycle Jupiter now in Aquarius), with tension between demanding practicality and wisdom in vulnerability (Saturn in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces, peaking February 5). The full moon on Monday, February 9 is the seed essence germination turning point for this year, awakened fertility emerging toward flowering and fruition. continued

society's childSociety's Child The acrid smell of self-combusting child stars permeates the annals of pop culture. The stories of those who make it big early, only to crash and burn later in life, are so ingrained in our cultural myth, that we almost take it for granted that the Tatum O’Neals and Britney Spears’ who ride the rocket to the stars before they are old enough to vote, will have to pay for their good fortune with miserable adulthoods. In the end, some youthful celebrities sink obscurely into the ashes from whence they came — and some, like Janis Ian, survive. continued

evil geniusEvil Genius Nine-year-old Cadel Piggot is the anti-Harry Potter. Like Harry, he’s an orphan who has been raised by uncaring, clueless adults. Like Harry, he feels a sense of isolation and sadness because of the lack of real affection in his life. Like Harry, he is imbued with powers greater than all those in his sphere. And just like Harry, Cadel is finally freed from his dull life to study at a school that is designed to hone his special talents. However, unlike Harry Potter, Cadel Piggot does not end up in a school that teaches him to fight evil in order to save the world. On the contrary, Cadel is has been chosen for a different path. continued

It's Fall Fashion Month in New York and time to spruce up your wardrobe. In this new era of frugality, you probably don't have a bucket full of ready cash with which to purchase the latest couture. How about a cheap, new T-shirt instead? Better yet, how about a cheap, new T-shirt that will spark the kind of conversation that makes your friends and co-workers forget that you're wearing the same slacks you've had on for the past decade? Here are three designs created to distract and raise an eyebrow or two.
